CHECKBOOK COVER PATTERNStart with a flat piece of felt. You can follow our wet felting instructions to make your felt. Or you can needle felt your wool to make the checkbook cover. With needle felting you can make it seamless. Our eyeglass case pattern is made seamless. You can check it out if you wish to try doing this pattern without seams. We suggest wetting your needle felted fiber with hot water and soap and fulling your wool to make it stiffer for this project. Our fulling techniques may be helpful to you. This free felting project was sewn and gives instructions for how to sew the project together. You can embellish your finished cover with needle felting, embroidery, or beading, or whatever you wish. Try using different colors of wool for the inside flaps. If you want your inside flaps to be firmer, you can use a fabric stiffener. Be sure and print out the pattern as is. Do not shrink the pattern when printing or you will have an incorrect size when your project is finished. If you want your felt cover less bulky, you can make the inside flaps with only two layers of alpaca fleece or other wool instead of three layers.
