Creating a business website can be done completely by you or you can hand it over to someone else. Just depends on what your budget is and how much time you have to devote to building a website.

We chose to do it ourself. Being a small farm we don't have a lot of extra money floating around and we enjoy learning new things.

Most people looking into raising alpacas, do so because they are ready to leave the nine-to-five rat race. They want to work from home. Having a website is a good addition to your alpaca home business.

When looking for small business website hosting, we knew that we wanted to limit the learning curve time. The less we had to know to create a professional business website, the better in the beginning. Once we were comfortable with basics, then we could look into more complex website building.

How much time did we have to devote to learning and creating a business website? Well, not too much. So we set off researching what would work best for us.

We didn't want to learn a bunch of html code to start off. We did take the time to learn a small amount. Most of that we learned for creating auctions on ebay.

We didn't know how to design a website and didn't want to have an ugly site. It was pretty pricey to have someone else do it. So that was another consideration.

We knew we would need help along the way as building a business website was totally out of our comfort zone. So we had to have a good support system.

Our research brought us to something called "site build it". It seemed to fit our needs. We could have a site up and running fairly quickly and it has its own forum for getting help along the way. There is a complete guide to follow and design templates. We learned how to create a business website in just a short time through sitebuildit. We did this whole website ourselves. The content is 100% us.

Our site has been up for over a year and we have been happy with how it has progressed. Creating a business website has been fun. We have learned a lot along the way. We highly recommend it to the website novice.

Getting traffic, of course, is the main thing that drives your website to success or oblivion. Site build it has taught us everything we needed to know and we didn't have to purchase a whole lot of different programs to achieve success.
