FELTED WOOL PURSE
This felted wool purse is a fun no sew project. Make a flat piece of felt by following our
wet felting instructions.
You will need 8 to 10 ounces of carded fleece. The amount depends on how big a purse you want to make and how much your fleece shrinks.
You will need beads for your wool bag. We used 9x6 mm barrel pony beads. You can use any kind you want as long as you can thread them onto your felt.
You must have some soap and warm water to felt your fleece.
Start by making two flat pieces of felt. We made ours 9 x 12 inches.

Put the two flat pieces of felt together and cut fringes along three sides. We cut ours 2 inches deep and made them approximately 1/2 inch wide. If we made the purse again, we would cut the fringes 3 inches deep. We would like a little longer fringe. It's up to you. This is your felt purse so make it to your liking.

Next tie the fringes from the front piece to the back piece. Make sure you tie the fringes that were cut together.

Make a long rope handle. Follow the instructions with our
drawstring purse
to make the rope for the handle.
Lay the rope in the tied fringes so that you can pull the fringe around the rope handle.

Pull each end of the tied fringe around the rope. Twist the ends of the fringe to narrow it enough to thread the bead onto the fringe. Slide the bead up until it is snug against the rope.

Continue to add beads in this manner all around the purse. This secures the handle in place.
Your felted wool purse is finished in no time and best of all you didn't have to sew!

You can embellish your wool handbag with needle felting or beading. Let your imagination go wild to make the purse unique.
