Needle Felting a Pillow

Needle felting a pillow with alpaca fiber can be a great way to express yourself.

We love alpacas so that is why we chose to make a pillow of them. Plus we didn't have to dye colors.

alpaca pillow

This pillow project was an experiment that worked very well.

The pillow is made with all natural alpaca fleece. The fleece was washed, carded, and some of the colors were blended.

Using a photo as a reference, the alpacas were needled little by little.

When the front of the pillow was finished, the back panel was made by wet felting. Follow this link to discover the wet felting process that we use.

The front was, also, wet felted to hold the fleece in place.

Sew the panels together leaving one edge open. You can stuff it or use a pillow insert. Then sew the final edge closed. Your pillow is complete...

AND oh so soft!!!

You don't have to be an artist to make something this great.

Remember, needle felting is only limited by your imagination...And we know you all have great imaginations!
